About Us
Jason Read
Owner - Currently attempting a position in the Guinness Book of records for having the largest, most interesting collection of Hawaiian shirts........ by interesting we think this means appalling.... like his taste in music. |
Rob Strong
Manager - Rob started at The Rattlebone when just 12 years old and pushed his way up through the ranks. He went off to take up several chefs positions in the area and has now rejoined the fold as Manager. He has major strengths in food, wine and beer, and is a genuinely caring host. So he is pretty rounded….in more ways than one! On the downside he is a cigarette lighter kleptomaniac and enjoys winding up his staff to distraction. |

Iain Frazer
Assistant Manager - Originally from Derby, Frazer as he is known lives in a different time zone to the rest of Sherston residents - but you can set your watch by him – always in bang on 12.05 instead of 12. Frazer also has an un-healthy obsession with sun beds, not surprising as he lives in a hole and is never seen before mid-day! He is also the only member of staff to have shared a bed with our male ghost (both parties were reportedly satisfied by their experience!) |

Hannah Neale
Hannah is originally from Sherston, drives a Pea Green VW Polo and is a bit bonkers, she is currently training to become a cider drinker by consuming copious amounts of Appletiser! and desperately wants to work behind the bar. |

Caroline Scarlett
Caroline works part time for us behind the bar, full time she works for Wiltshire Tracklements making the chutneys and pickles we use in our kitchens. Apparently Caroline used to enjoy cross country running, but kept forgetting her trainers so ended up drinking and smoking instead, both of which are now top of her list of favorite hobbies. |
Charlie Cropper
Waitress – Charlie has only been with us for a few months, but has already proved herself as an indispensable part of the team. She is a serious artist and wears knee length brown leather boots. |
Becky Neale
Waitress - Sister to Hannah and just as pretty, Becky is a profesional dancer by day and works for us in the evenings. |
Adam Scarlett
Brother to Caroline. Likes romancing the ladies. Likes to think he is a magnificent footballer and has a degree in drinking. |
Kitchen |
Roger Payne
Head Chef - the heart of the kitchen, he has returned from a few years away from the pub and is instrumental in producing our delicious food. He enjoys DIY, quality time at home with the family, and searching for a decent curry. |
Martyn Woodward
Second Chef - Martyn has recently joined us and has proved an excellant pastry chef, he works very hard and enjoys his well earned sleep! |
Sue Painter
Chef de Partie - Sue is a proud ‘mother hen’ with Three children of her own, as well as the Rattlebone staff she has taken under her wing. She is always clucking around us, cleaning up our mess (well, Rob’s mess actually), whilst making sure that the other chef’s aprons are straight and that they all behave themselves. |
David Pratt
Kitchen Assistant and Groundsman– he is a mean golfer and brilliant in the kitchen. He also loves gardening and being Scottish! |
| |
Adam Fitzpatrick
Washing Up – loves winding up Sue, is a budding footballer and likes keeping his parents on their toes. |
Maintenance |
Lyn Willets
An integral part of the team. Lyn loves Elvis and classic 50s and 60s music. She is occasionally assisted by her two daughters, Dee and Laura. She loves her large family and has another full time job just looking after them. |
